Textbook Inspection Copy Approval Scheme
Textbooks published by Portland Press are available for lecturers to examine on approval before making a decision whether to purchase the book for their own use or adopt it for course use.
The book will be sent to you on 30 days' free approval with an invoice which will be due for payment within 30 days of the date of issue.
When you receive the book you have three options available to you:
Option 1 - If you decide to adopt the book for your course and this results in an order for five or more copies, you may keep the book free of charge. Return the invoice with course information and the name of the bookshop or department which will be placing the order.
Option 2 - If the book is not suitable for adoption but you would like to keep it, then simply pay the invoice.
Option 3 - If you do not want to keep or adopt the book, return it in good condition with the invoice.

To request an Inspection Copy of a book please complete the Textbook Inspection Copy order form or apply in writing on your departmental paper giving the title of course, level, the start date and the number of students and return it to:
